Brain Gym® was developed by Paul E. Dennison, Ph.D., and his wife and collaborator, Gail E. Dennison as they searched for effective ways to help children and adults learn more efficiently and without stress. The 26 simple, fun Brain Gym® movements activate the brain and the body.

They are based upon three simple principles:

Leaning is a natural, pleasant activity which never stops during our lifetime.
Learning can be blocked by a person being under stress and perceiving a task as “too difficult.”
All of us are blocked in learning at times, especially because we have learned not to move.
Brain Gym® is part of an expanded system called Educational Kinesiology. The benefits of using this system and the movements include:

Improved learning ability and academic performance
Integration and balance of emotion and behavior
Improved physical coordination and performance at sports
Development of peak learning for a task in any area of life
